The Middle Years

Contuing commentary on the SFA....

After Georges departure from the scene a new force was emerging but it was immediate as Aidan's Balloon took the title in Season 7.

Although Aidan's only major title he was one of the rocks of Shearer.

Nick Hopkinsons's Amogen glory years started in Season 6 as they finished to runner's up to Balloon. Prior to this Amogen had not really made headway but the fairytale rags to riches story was completed in Season 7 as they took the title for the first time .

Amogen went on to be serious contenders at the top level but the glory years came to abrupt end in 9, the last time they lifted a major trophy.

This story is almost mirrored by the Mighty Boosh. After starting late in the GW and powered by an amazing MC in Tarrallo (who I tired to sign a lot) they were rampant at youth level for a number of seasons. Sadly though after two dominant years in the SFA seasons 10 & 11 they faded away a little.

Shearer The Early Years

Shearer began life back in late 2008 and my first adventure was trying to get into the Premiership. A chase for the SFA Qual 2 was on but John Gardiner's Macduff took the title.

John was a popular character in the SFA and spent his first seasons there before going off on tour round the FA's.

The first ever full blown title to be awarded was won and was awarded to none other than Stewart Malcolm's Unathletic Madrid.

I think Stewart went on a youth adventure after that but was fitting that they won the last SFA Premier League (later known as the Primera Division) before it was disbanded in in Season 13.

The competition sported some big names in it's day as you can see from the records page.

Real Beziers won the second title. From the start of Shearer a force was building in the SFA and it was unleashed to full effect in Season 4, it was green and it went by the name of Panathinaikos Repdien.

A trio of Premier League titles followed prior to Geogre's team ducking out.

In the meantime at UFFA level the SFA managers weren't making much headway as Paul Wallace's Hartlepool United were proving quite the force at that level. Although only two wins to show in that competition a string of final appearances hasn't been matched by any team.

Briefly Back for the Wake

As Shearer says it's farewell's I've returned to get in place for the new GW's. So thought I'd do a quick snapshot tour of Shearer with a brief history screen-shots etc.

It'll be done from my point of view and kind of semi focused on the SFA or the NFA as it eventually became known.

Back Soon.
