Shearer The Early Years

Shearer began life back in late 2008 and my first adventure was trying to get into the Premiership. A chase for the SFA Qual 2 was on but John Gardiner's Macduff took the title.

John was a popular character in the SFA and spent his first seasons there before going off on tour round the FA's.

The first ever full blown title to be awarded was won and was awarded to none other than Stewart Malcolm's Unathletic Madrid.

I think Stewart went on a youth adventure after that but was fitting that they won the last SFA Premier League (later known as the Primera Division) before it was disbanded in in Season 13.

The competition sported some big names in it's day as you can see from the records page.

Real Beziers won the second title. From the start of Shearer a force was building in the SFA and it was unleashed to full effect in Season 4, it was green and it went by the name of Panathinaikos Repdien.

A trio of Premier League titles followed prior to Geogre's team ducking out.

In the meantime at UFFA level the SFA managers weren't making much headway as Paul Wallace's Hartlepool United were proving quite the force at that level. Although only two wins to show in that competition a string of final appearances hasn't been matched by any team.

I really appreciate your blog Jak and read it everytime smth new is posted. I like your initiative of a review of the SFA during Shearer's GW lifetime even though I haven't been a part of this fed until the fed merger in season 13. Keep up the good work and maybe we'll meet again in a GW somewhere (btw where are going after restart?), 'till then I'll still check your blog for good FML reads.

P.S.: You're a bit wrong in the last paragraph. Check seasons 8-11 ;)
